Credit Solutions Advisor Hood Thompson, Inc. Charlotte, NC 28215 As a Debt Collector at Hood and Thompson, Inc., you will be pivotal in helping individuals regain control of their finances while ensuring timely payments to creditors. You will work to establish repayment solutions, educate clients on improving their credit, and uphold the company’s commitment to ethical debt collection practices. Responsibilities Contact debtors via phone, email, or mail to discuss overdue payments and create repayment plans tailored to their financial circumstances. Maintain a professional, empathetic approach to help clients understand their debts and options for resolution. Monitor and track payment progress, ensuring all agreements are honored and deadlines are met. Negotiate payment terms and settlements while adhering to company and legal guidelines. Guide debtors on improving their credit and avoiding future financial pitfalls. Accurately document all communications, payment agreements, and account updates in the company’s system. Stay updated on federal and state laws related to debt collection, such as the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA). Work collaboratively with team members to meet performance goals and enhance customer satisfaction. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (required); associate’s or bachelor’s degree in finance, business, or related fields (preferred). Prior experience in debt collection, customer service, or financial counseling (preferred). Certification in financial counseling, credit repair, or debt collection practices (a plus). Knowledge of FDCPA and other applicable regulations (preferred).
