SECRETARY

The Town of Mashpee Town Clerk’s Office welcomes applications for a full time Administrative Secretary; $25.39/hour – $26.92/hour (effective 7/1/25) commensurate with qualifications and experience. This position works 37.5 hours/week, 8:30am – 4:30pm, Monday-Friday.

Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent and have more than one year of prior work experience performing like or similar work and in providing direct customer service to the public; working knowledge of Microsoft Office; experience with Laserfiche preferred; MUNIS experience preferred; experience working in a municipal setting strongly preferred; or any equivalent combination of education, training or experience which demonstrates possession of the required knowledge, skills and abilities necessary to perform the essential functions of the job. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to deal professionally, tactfully and appropriately with the general public. Must possess a valid MA driver’s license (Class D). Must successfully pass a comprehensive background investigation.

Responsibilities:

Performs routine office tasks, assists customers, processes mail, reconciles reports, prepares and maintains financial and other records and provides other secretarial support to the Office of the Town Clerk. Distributes Town beach stickers, transfer station stickers, recycling stickers, boat ramp and shellfish permits; maintains weekly Board and Committee meeting calendars, posts meeting notices and agendas; maintains the business certificate database; maintains dog database; maintains Town Clerk’s Office webpage on the Town website; assists with other administrative responsibilities of the office.
