Normal Ave, Kirksville, MO 63501 Posting Details Position Information Position Title Executive Secretary to the President Job Responsibilities The Executive Secretary to the President performs independently advanced administrative duties and provides professional assistance to the President of the University, the Executive Assistant to the President, the Board of Governors, and the General Counsel. The position serves as the public face of the President’s Office and is the first point of contact for students, parents, faculty/staff, alumni, and other constituent groups. Under the direction of the Executive Assistant to the President, the Executive Secretary will monitor visitors, phone calls, and mail; maintain the President’s calendar; coordinate logistics for meetings and events; facilitate travel for the President and Board of Governors; handle budget and requisition processes; maintain databases; oversee file records; oversee the University’s complaint system; monitor and update the President’s Office and Board of Governors websites; coordinate and assist with regular President’s Office processes/events; draft reports, scripts, and correspondence; assist with employment and hiring processes and maintain personnel files; and lead and assist with various other projects and administrative duties as needed or assigned. After-hours and weekend work is required on occasion. Required Qualifications A minimum of an associate degree and three years of experience in an administrative environment OR a minimum of five years of experience in an administrative environment The ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality The ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and manage complex projects concurrently A strong work ethic with a record of success in independently completing assigned projects The ability to function in a fast-paced team environment Excellent personal organization and time management skills Excellent written and oral communication skills Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, with a friendly, positive and professional demeanor and sense of humor Demonstrated proficiency in word processing and spreadsheet software Preferred Qualifications Experience in an executive-level administrative environment Knowledge of Zoom, Outlook, and Banner Posting Detail Information Posting Number S242P Open Date 06/18/2025 Close Date Open Until Filled Yes Special Instructions to Applicants Truman offers an attractive benefits package including paid sick and vacation time; paid holidays; medical, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance; and retirement plan.
