Description The Office Manager provides dynamic administatrive support to the Student Access Center. This position is primarily responsible for coordinating complex student exam schedules and ensuring the implementation of reasonable and appropriate accommodations in accordance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). As a highly student-facing position, the Office Manager provides timely, professional assistance to students, parents, faculty, and staff engaging with the Student Access Office. Additionally, the role manages the department’s budget and oversees the daily operations of the Student Access Test Center. For more information about our outstanding benefits, please visit: UNE Benefits Overview Responsibilities Manages the day-to-day needs of the department, including ordering and maintaining office supplies and handling department work orders.
Compiles budget reports, maintains confidential student accommodation records and other documentation, and coordinates special events.
Oversees the implementation of individual student accommodations in the Student Access Test Center, including coordinating proctoring coverage between the Biddeford and Portland campus locations.
Coordinates exam scheduling for students registered with accommodations and plans logistics for administering exams. Troubleshoots testing issues as they arise and coordinates solutions that are agreeable to all parties involved.
Assists with the implementation of assistive technology, alternative textbooks, and the distribution of notetaking services as needed.
Provides complex administrative support for the department, including tracking and maintaining confidential student materials, managing hard-copy and electronic filing systems, and maintaining departmental databases.
Maintains and updates the department website and informational materials on an ongoing basis.
Participates in planning and executing administrative operations; makes recommendations for process improvements, administrative changes, or new initiatives.
Handles complex and confidential issues.
Interprets and implements policies, rules, and regulations, including monitoring compliance with Section 504 of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA).
Recommends guidelines, policies, rules, and regulations as needed.
Oversees the evaluation of documents submitted for the administrator’s signature.
Provides support for long-range planning and scheduling activities.
Plans and coordinates logistical and administrative support for events, meetings, and special functions, including providing on-site support.
Serves as the administrator’s representative in dealings with third parties.
Researches, coordinates, and manages special projects.
Performs other related duties as assigned. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree preferred, plus at least 4-5 year of relevant administrative experience, or a combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills are acquired
Strong organizational and time management skills, able to prioritize tasks in fast-paced environments.
Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication abilities for effective interaction with students, faculty, professional staff, and parents.
Proven track record of delivering exceptional customer service to diverse groups.

Able to work autonomously and maintain focus on solution-based approaches.
Proficient in computer systems, word processing software, and maintaining professional calendars.
Experienced in business operations, task management, and adherence to policies within student services.
Ability to remain calm and focused when addressing time-sensitive challenges.
