Medical Assistant Job Description Pay Range:
  • $18•$22+ per hour based on experience; with rapid advancement if you take on new tasks and show dependability, accuracy, and competency.
Experience required:
  • High School Diploma
  • 3 years medical office experience preferred
Duties:

Check-in and check out patients; handle phone calls; Assists with direct patient care procedures and related task; checks in patients, assists in obtaining patient histories, takes vital signs, prepares charts, and assists with medical examinations Light clean up of office environment; collect trashes and recycling. Accurately transcribes physicians orders, completes all necessary forms, requisitions, and communications required to implement orders. Schedules and monitors patient appointments; may coordinate routine office activities and administrative functions in support of unit activities Performs routine procedures under established protocols. Schedules outpatient procedures as ordered by Physician and Nurse Practitioners; Also creates and obtains approvals and Prior Authorization for tests, studies, and medications as necessary based on insurance requirements. Return patient phone calls with provider responses Handle prescription request and refills with accuracy. Skills and abilities

  • Ability to plan, organize, direct and control the flow of communication and tasks within the job duties and responsibilities with minimal supervision and with time limitations
  • Ability to perform detailed assignments, work accurately, follow directions and assess priorities
  • Able to assist with heavy lifting of patients at times
  • Capable of working under pressure.
  • Ability to demonstrate sincere concern in caring for patients who are ill.
  • Ability to learn procedures and techniques involved in administrating basic patient care.
  • Possess good communication skills and ability to deal with patients, their families and visitors with patience and care Physical demands May rarely involve helping with a team lift of patients.

Exerting up to ten pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently to lift, carry, push, or pull or otherwise move objects. We will train you completely on our procedures and systems prior to being asked to do things independently.
