Job Description
Bilingual Front Desk Coordinator Cass County Dental Clinic Belton, MO 64012 The dental office front desk coordinator is responsible for answering phones, scheduling appointments, obtaining necessary patient information, handling patient inquiries, and other duties as delegated by the Practice Manager. Obtains all necessary information and documentation from clinic patients Utilizes dental software to accurately input all patient & insurance information, and schedule appointments for dental services Verifies each patient’s insurance eligibility on the day of the scheduled appointment Checks service histories prior to appointments & accurately documents in patient record Reinforces proposed dental treatment and schedules appointments based on the dentist’s treatment plan Monitors recall appointment reminders, makes confirmation calls, and monitors patient appointment status and history Accurately documents all patient contact in the patient’s account notes—this means updating spelling of name, confirming addressing, DOB, insurance information is accurate once patient fills out patient registration—accuracy in information is vital! Ensures that all patient paperwork is filled out completely and checks that all areas and signatures have been accounted for Collects patient payments at time of service and maintains a balanced cash drawer Maintains an appropriate supply of office supplies by properly disposing and replacing outdated products and writing list of products needed on supply lists Explains importance of maintaining appointment sequence to every patient Discusses complications that may result if the patient fails to complete the treatment plan Translates for other staff members, when language assistance is needed Maintains compliance with
HIPAA, OSHA, & CDC
standards Responsible for the maintenance & cleanliness of the front office and waiting area Recognizes emergency situations and follows established emergency protocols Any other duties as delegated by the Dentist, Director of Dental Programs, or Practice Manager
QUALIFICATIONS
Proficient in both English and Spanish language skills (this is a MUST) Ability to relate well with patients and other healthcare personnel Proficient at computer use Quick learner who does not hesitate to ask for help when needed Positive & professional team member Social and cultural sensitivity appropriate to ethnically and economically diverse patient- and employee-base Excellent organization skills Impeccable attention to detail Effective time management Willingness to educate patients and the community in health maintenance and the role of the health care team Ability to prioritize tasks Commitment to expanding access to care for the under-served
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
High School Diploma or Equivalent 1 year experience working in customer service or as a receptionist in a healthcare setting Experience working with dental software is preferred, but not required Willing to train the right person! CCDC participates in e-Verify employment verification.
