OVERALL RESPONSIBILITIES
The Central Registration Receptionist plays a vital role in supporting the enrollment process for all new students entering the school district. This position is responsible for providing a welcoming first point of contact for families, coordinating registration appointments, maintaining accurate student records, supporting English language learner (ELL) screenings, and ensuring effective communication between the registration center and the district’s 17 schools. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, customer-focused, and technologically proficient.
RESPONSIBILITIES
: Serve as the first point of contact for families visiting or contacting the registration center. Answer incoming calls, respond to inquiries, and provide accurate information regarding the enrollment process. Schedule registration appointments and assist families in preparing required documentation. Collect, verify, and organize student registration information and distribute to the appropriate school(s). Coordinate and track English language learner screenings in collaboration with ELL staff. Maintain student registration databases and spreadsheets using Excel, Google Sheets, or other district software platforms. Communicate effectively and professionally with school personnel, district departments, and families. Order and maintain inventory of office and registration supplies. Ensure a welcoming, organized, and inclusive environment for all families and students. Assist with reporting and data entry as requested by district administration. Maintain confidentiality of student and family information in accordance with FERPA and district policies. Assumes other special activities and/or responsibilities as assigned by their supervisor or designee for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit according to contract.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent required; associate’s degree preferred. At least two years of administrative, clerical, or office support experience, preferably in a school or educational setting. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook), Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Calendar), and general database systems. Strong interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment and handle confidential information with discretion. Experience working with diverse populations, including English language learners preferred. Bilingual (Spanish, Arabic, or other languages) is a plus.
