For over 30 years Billingsgate Shellfish has been selling it’s exceptional product to distributers all along the East coast. You can find Billingsgate’s clams and oysters at various restaurants on the Cape, including Billingsgate’s first customer The Lobster Pot Restaurant, Provincetown MA. We pride ourselves on delivering the freshest clams and oysters to both restaurants and wholesalers. Billingsgate Shellfish grows a natural, “free range” oyster. These hardened oysters are in theirnatural environment on the bottom and exposed to the air twice daily which extends their shelf life several weeks. The abundance of diatoms in the water makes the oysters and clams exceptionally sweet as many chefs have attested. •Job Overview• This is a great opportunity to work outside, on the water with one of the first wholesale shellfishermen on Cape Cod. You will learn how to plant and harvest Wellfleet oysters and clams. This positions hours fluxuate dependant on the hours of low tide daily. This position requires the ability to lift 20+ pounds. No prior experience required, but a willingness to learn and be part of a small team. Year round part time and full time opportunity–great for someone looking for extra work, looking to get into the shellfishing industry, or looking for flexibility with school classes/college courses.
