Job Description
Gardener Assistant 3.2 3.2 out of 5 stars 30 Main Street, Stockbridge, MA 01262 The Red Lion Inn is seeking a reliable and enthusiastic Gardener Assistant to support our head gardener in maintaining the beauty of our historic grounds. This is a hands-on, outdoor role ideal for someone who enjoys working with plants and being part of a team that values tradition, natural beauty, and enjoys being outdoors. We are looking for someone to work seasonally and about 20 hours a week.
Job Purpose:
To support the overall maintenance and care of our gardens, landscaped areas, and outdoor spaces. The role is essential for helping our Gardener ensure that the grounds are healthy and well-maintained throughout the seasons.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with planting flowers, shrubs, and other greenery Perform regular watering of container pots, planters, and landscaped areas Help with basic garden maintenance tasks as directed Ensure tools and equipment are cleaned and stored properly
Requirements:
Must be available to work weekends Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions Ability to follow instructions and work independently when needed Interest in gardening or landscaping is a plus Must be able to follow guidance from our Gardener or Department leaders Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 30 pounds Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel for extended periods of time.
