ABOUT CARROLLWOOD FARMS
Carrollwood Farms is a family-owned farm in Stokes and Rockingham Counties. Our mission is to build a family farm for generations to come, showcase and preserve the best of the region, and use best practices in all that we do. Position Overview In this full-time, hands-on position, you will play a vital role in maintaining the beauty and functionality of our expansive farmland. You will lead a small team of groundskeepers, ensuring the meticulous care of our lawns, flower beds, natural areas, trails, road edges, and woodlands. Responsibilities Oversee and participate in the care of lawns, trees, shrubs, flowers, and turfgrass Manage irrigation systems, including conducting basic audits and repairs Apply fertilizers, herbicides, and insecticides safely and effectively Spread mulch, trim trees, hedges, and shrubs Operate and maintain farm vehicles, power tools, and equipment Lead your team in keeping the grounds clean and free of debris Ensure adherence to safety protocols and best practices for landscaping and groundskeeping Qualifications Minimum 4 years of experience in the lawn and landscape care industry, with 2+ years in a supervisory role (preferred) Proven knowledge of sustainable landscaping practices Expertise in operating and maintaining farm equipment (tractors, utility vehicles, mowers, etc.) Proficient in using power tools safely and efficiently Strong understanding of plant and soil health Excellent communication, teamwork, and leadership skills Ability to prioritize tasks, manage projects effectively, and meet deadlines Physically fit for outdoor work, including lifting up to 70 lbs., bending, kneeling, and walking/standing for extended periods
