Pest Control Technician Summary:

A pest control technician is responsible for inspecting and treating properties to eliminate and prevent infestations of pests such as rodents, insects, and other unwanted organisms.

Key Responsibilities:

Inspect properties to determine the type and extent of pest infestations Choose appropriate treatment methods to eliminate pests and prevent re-infestations Apply pest control chemicals and baits in accordance with safety and industry regulations Maintain records of pest control activities and chemical usage Provide customers with information on how to prevent future pest infestations Follow safety procedures when handling and storing pesticides

Required Skills:

Knowledge of pest biology and behavior Ability to diagnose and solve pest-related problems Familiarity with federal and state pest control regulations Strong communication and customer service skills Physical dexterity and ability to work in tight spaces Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent Pest control certification or license, if required by state Experience in pest control or related field is preferred
