Job Description

CEI Inspector
As a CEI Inspector, you will be responsible for performing highly complex technical assignments in field surveying and construction layout, making and checking engineering computations, inspecting construction work, and conducting field tests.
Your Primary Responsibilities will include
Daily documentation of contractor’s work efforts.
Project field book preparation and documentation.
Density log book preparation and documentation.
Material sampling and testing.
Assisting with preparation of the Final Estimates package.
Measures distances to verify accuracy of dimensions of construction activity/layout.
Verifies levels, alignment, and elevation of construction activity/installations.
Observes work in progress to ensure that procedures followed and materials used conform to specifications.
Obtains and prepares material samples for laboratory testing.
Examines workmanship of finished installations for conformity to standards and accepts installation.
Records quantities of materials received or used during specified periods.
Maintains daily log of construction and inspection activities.
What you’ll need
High school graduate or equivalent plus two (2) years experience in construction inspection, one (1) year of which shall have been in bridge and/or roadway construction inspection.
Or a Civil Engineering Degree and FE (or EIT) Certification with the ability to earn additional required Inspector qualifications with the initial year of employment
Valid driver’s license with approved/acceptable driving history required.
Ability to work in a team environment.

CTQP Asphalt Roadway Level I
CTQP Earthwork Construction Inspection Level
CTQP Final Estimates Level I
FDOT Intermediate MOT
Nuclear Radiation Safety
Florida Stormwater, Erosion, and Sedimentation Control Training and Certification Program for Inspectors and Contractors
Complete the Critical Structures Construction Issues, Self-Study Course, and submit the mandatory Certification of Course Completion form (for structures projects).
Position requires a minimum of 40 hours a week with the possibility of overtime (Hourly).
