About the Position
This position is with the Mississippi Insurance Department, Fire Services Division. This is the journey level work accountable for scheduling and conducting initial, annual, random, renewal, and follow-up inspections of assigned businesses or professions to assure conformity with applicable state laws or rules and regulations. At this level, employees will verify licensure of professionals and businesses and inspect and review business documentation as it relates to licensure requirements. Work includes serving as a lead worker and mentor to first-level vocational positions. The territories and counties are as follows: Territory 3: Calhoun, Chickasaw, Choctaw, Clay, Grenada, Lowndes, Monroe, Montgomery, Oktibbeha, Webster and Yalobusha Counties. Preferred Qualifications
Typically requires High school equivalency and 1-3 years of experience.

Agency preferred qualifications:

1-2 years of experience in LC Gas Industry or 1-3 years experience in fire prevention or firefighting. Must complete Fire Inspector I (1031) and Fire Investigator (1033) within 1 year of hire. Must complete required CETP Courses.
