Construction Laborer 2.5 2.5 out of 5 stars Stoughton, MA 02072 • Hybrid work Description This is a critical support position for a busy underground utility construction company. As a Laborer, daily work will involve placement of plastic gas main or electric conduit. Most of the work is underground/excavation projects which includes frequent shovel work. Requirements Assists crew leader in construction, reconstruction and maintenance work Assists equipment operators by spotting/swamping, hand digging and locating underground obstructions Drives commercial vehicles equipped to transport a variety of materials and equipment Complete daily paperwork in an accurate manner Ensures the truck has current licenses, tags, permits, and proof of insurance Works with specialized equipment including jackhammers, rotary drills, demo saws and other industry tools Signals equipment operators to facilitate alignment, movement, and adjustment of machinery, equipment, and materials Works safely around backhoes, excavators, trenchers and dump trucks Cleans and prepares construction sites to eliminate possible hazards Commitment to safety in all work 1-3 years of experience in a labor-intensive environment 1-3 years of experience in the construction is preferred Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, kneel, grasp, push, pull and reach on a frequent basis throughout the day. Must be able to lift-up to 40 pounds on a frequent basis and up to 75 pounds on an occasional basis Time management skills Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills Valid DOT Medical Card will be required upon hire
