Project Manager Position Overview:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Insulation Estimator/Project Manager to join our team. This dual-role position is responsible for preparing accurate estimates for mechanical insulation projects and managing awarded jobs from pre-construction through closeout. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of mechanical systems, insulation materials, and construction practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review project plans, specifications, and related documents to determine scope of work.
• Perform quantity take-offs for mechanical insulation systems (HVAC, plumbing, process piping, etc.).
• Solicit and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotes.
• Develop detailed cost estimates, proposals, and bid packages.
• Maintain estimating database and historical cost records.
• Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits.

Project Management Duties:

• Oversee awarded projects to ensure successful execution according to contract terms, schedule, and budget.
• Coordinate with field crews, suppliers, and subcontractors to ensure timely material and labor deployment.
• Manage project budgets, monitor costs, and issue change orders as necessary.
• Track project progress and resolve issues proactively.
• Communicate with clients, contractors, and internal teams throughout the project lifecycle.
• Prepare and submit project documentation, including schedules, reports, RFIs, and closeout packages.

Qualifications:

Education:

Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred.

Experience:

Minimum 3-5 years of experience in mechanical insulation, HVAC, or related estimating/project management role.

• Strong knowledge of mechanical systems (piping, ductwork, equipment) and insulation materials/applications.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting construction drawings and specifications.
• Skilled in mechanical estimating software preferable (MIKE) and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent communication, time management, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• OSHA 30 or ability to obtain certification is a plus.

Work Environment:

• Primarily office-based with regular visits to job sites.
• Must be able to navigate active construction sites and wear appropriate PPE.
