Installation Manager – Soft Play 2.8 2.8 out of 5 stars 11515 Vanstory Drive, Huntersville, NC 28078 The Installation Manager will provide vetting, oversight, and management of the independent installation vendors. He or she will secure new installation vendors, compile, manage and provide product and installation training documents, manage compliance to Soft Play standards, ensure proper insurance coverages, licenses and registrations for the installation vendors to effectively install play equipment, surfacing, themeing, service or other products that Soft Play may provide. Travel to customer sites will be required for this position, for on-site training or installation support. Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned and/or change. Communicate effectively by working well with others and communicating with sales representatives, customers, co-workers, and outside contractors so installations are correct, on time and within budget. Manage and organize installation vendors and groups by critically managing, analyzing, evaluating and organizing installation vendors to ensure proper regional staffing for current and future workloads. Providing oversight and training for the installation teams to ensure proper conduct, quality of quality of assembly/construction and service to Soft Play and the Customer is paramount to this position. Assist the installers with trouble shooting and field support, as necessary. Partner with installation teams on-site as needed, to support site management, equipment and staffing needs to complete high-profile or challenging projects. Assist in training, planning, and execution of installations. Create and obtain competitive quotes and installation vendor contracts to ensure that Soft Play has a strong regional network of reliable installers, maintaining long-term relationships and developing or resourcing new vendors with other PlayPower divisions and distributors as necessary. Develop project duration estimate tools based on project size, complexity and system type. Ensure industry level pricing and contracts are competitive to the market, so that we may offer competitive pricing to our customers and meet our financial goals. Organize workload and prioritize effectively by supporting Project Management for customer schedules and managing installation dates and places. Assist internal teams to check site and pipe drawings for accuracy. Work with the Engineering and Design teams to play a role in new product development and troubleshooting. Assist in pricing by regular monitoring installer costs and pricing models to be used by Project Management and the Sales team for quoting purposes and partner to ensure accurate cost estimates prior to proposal quoting. As necessary, attend key pre-bid meetings with sales representatives and project managers to ensure all construction and site condition costs are considered and to help evaluate post project expenses for profitability adjustments as needed. Contributes to the corporate team effort by collaborating with every department, participating in Engineering, Design, Sales or Project Management Meetings, and other company business functions as required. Maintains professional and technical knowledge by participating in company sponsored product and services training events, interacting with other departments and periodic professional development opportunities. Stay up to date with new product development, documentation and familiarize oneself with installation best practices to provide accurate and detailed training to the installers. Maintains standard compliance by complying with all company and industry procedures, rules, and regulations. Ensure compliance with all state and local construction regulations- including state licensing, insurance, and background checks of subcontractors. Manage annual convention and trade show installations by supporting establishing the installation budget, coordinating, and overseeing the installation crew, and managing any other installation aspects related to conventions.

Requirements:

Minimum of 5 years of related construction industry experience in similar roles with a record of delivering superior results both individually and as a team member. Must be able and willing to travel within the United States and Canada up to 60% of the time with some occasional international travel. Must be able to read, study and pass state contractor license boards as required on behalf of Soft Play. Must have more than a basic understanding of construction, construction equipment, hand tools and assembly of standard and complex systems. Must be comfortable speaking, presenting, or training in front of groups of people Must wear personal protective equipment (PPE) such as steel toe shoes and safety glasses when on-site at an installation or when working with equipment and tools as required. Must be fluent in written and verbal English. Must be able to read, interpret, and understand construction and assembly drawings. Must maintain a valid driver’s license and motor vehicle insurance. Must be able to acquire and maintain an operator/use license for mechanical equipment such as forklifts, telehandler, manlift and scissor lift. Must be able to use computer and software (Outlook, Work, Excel, Power Point, Adobe, Files network, Teams.) as examples Must be able to learn and use data management systems (Syteline, Netsuite, SmartSheet)

Working Conditions :

This job generally operates in a professional indoor office environment but may be required to work for extended periods in outdoor or unconditioned spaces. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing systems and other electronic equipment. The employee is often exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at job sites, and personal protective equipment will be required. This role includes the use of hand and power tools, ladders, lifts, hoists and other construction site equipment. The ability to lift and manage up to 60lbs independently is required. The noise level in the field work environment and job sites can be loud.
