Directional Drill Operator/Locator Job Summary:
We’re looking for a dedicated and experienced Directional Drill Operator & Locator to become part of our team. In this position, you’ll collaborate with a Horizontal Directional Driller to safely and precisely install underground conduit and cable using advanced drilling and locating technology.
Key Responsibilities:
Locate the drill head throughout the directional drilling process Assist in underground installation of conduit, cable, handholes, flowerpots, pedestals, ROW signage, and other OSP infrastructure Support potholing operations and utilize various digging equipment Assist in the safe operation and maintenance of horizontal directional drilling machinery Complete daily reports, job progress logs, and all necessary paperwork for assigned projects Ensure safe work practices in various job environments including roadways, alleys, manholes, trenches, and other confined spaces Operate a variety of vehicles and heavy equipment, such as vactrons, conduit trailers, mini-excavators, and core drilling machines Promote and enforce safety protocols in compliance with OSHA, NESC, and company standards Provide guidance and training on safe equipment usage to new team members
Qualifications:
