Maintains, repairs, and inspects electrical systems, equipment and their components throughout the facility to ensure adherence to applicable safety codes and effective operation of equipment to create a safe environment for staff, visitors and patients. Maintains and repairs electrical systems, equipment and their components using hand and power tools and accepted industry practices to ensure safe, efficient, proper functioning and adherence to safety codes. Performs preventative maintenance and inspections on electrical systems, equipment and their components either independently or with an outside contractor and in accordance with department procedures to ensure reliability and adherence to safety codes. Plans, lays out and installs electrical work on renovation and construction projects by utilizing electrical expertise and tools to ensure the most cost-effective use of financial resources. May coordinate large projects by laying out the project, planning materials and time needed and overseeing the work of others to ensure effective completion. Completes work reports and/or inputs appropriate information of completed work into computer system in accordance with departmental procedures in order to maintain appropriate records for regulatory agencies and other purposes. Works effectively as a team member within department and with customers to provide quality service to hospital units through communication, cooperation and collaboration. May need to drive company vehicle. Demonstrates support for the mission, values and goals of the organization through behaviors that are consistent with the
CCMC STANDARDS.
Education and/or
Experience Required:
Education Required:
Requires High School graduate or equivalent. Trade school with certificate in electrical systems or recognized equivalent is required.
Experience Required:
Requires a minimum of 5 years of electrician experience, working with a wide variety of electrical systems, equipment and their components. License and/or
Certification Required:
Requires an Connecticut E-2 (Electrician) license. Asbestos Operations and Maintenance Training per
CFR 1926. 1101
required annually for CCMC school personnel. Position Specific Job License and/or
Certification Required:
Driver’s license and clean driving record required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Requires knowledge of all applicable electrical codes.
