We are lookingfor a skilled Electrician to join our maintenance team at ourfast-paced pork processing plant. You will be responsible forensuring the safe and efficient operation of the plant’s electricalsystems, equipment, and machinery. This role involvestroubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems,including motors, controls, lighting, and power distribution, tokeep production running smoothly.

procedures, andadhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) to maintain a safe,compliant, and high-performance environment. Your skills andattention to detail will directly contribute to the success of theteam and the plant as a whole!

WHAT YOU’LL DO

The below statementsare intended to describe the general nature and level of work beingperformed by people assigned to this job. They are not intended tobe an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties, and skillsrequired of personnel so classified. May perform other duties asassigned.

Electrical System Maintenance:

Power up the plant byinstalling, repairing, and maintaining electrical systems likemotors, control panels, lighting, wiring, and power distribution.

Keep everything running smoothly with routine inspections andpreventative maintenance on electrical systems. Fix problems fastby troubleshooting electrical issues using schematics andblueprints to get things back online quickly.

Troubleshooting & Repairs:

Diagnose and repair electricalissues throughout the plant, minimizing downtime and keepingproduction flowing. Jump into action during urgent electricalproblems to keep everything running without disruption. Work oncomplex systems like refrigeration, lighting, power supplies, andbackup generators to ensure they’re always ready.

Safety & Compliance:

Follow safety protocols to keep yourselfand the team safe while working with electrical systems. Ensurecompliance with electrical codes and regulations (OSHA, NEC) tomaintain a safe and efficient workplace. Lead safety checks to makesure all electrical systems are up to plant safety standards.

Collaboration & Communication:

Team up with maintenance andplant teams to solve electrical issues and improve plantperformance. Stay in the loop with the Maintenance Supervisor toprioritize tasks and get repairs done efficiently. Keep records ofall electrical maintenance and repairs, ensuring everything isdocumented clearly and on time.

General Plant Support:

Support plant-wide electrical needs bytroubleshooting and repairing machinery, equipment, andinfrastructure. Assist during emergencies and plant shutdowns tokeep things moving smoothly. Help install new equipment andelectrical upgrades to improve plant operations and efficiency.

To perform this job successfully, an individual mustbe able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from two-year collegeor technical school and 2+ years related experience or equivalentcombination of education and experience, required. PLC experience highly desired. Must be able to read and write fluently in English tocommunicate and understand technical/ training manuals written inEnglish. Possess the ability to function effectively in a teamenvironment and interact productively with all levels of teampersonnel and outside contractors. Ability to operate a forklift, genie lift or scissor liftpreferred Displays sound judgment, organizational skills, and the abilityto work independently with little supervision.
