The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the planning and execution of construction projects by providing accurate estimates and cost analysis. This position requires strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of construction processes, and the ability to negotiate effectively with contractors and suppliers. Duties Prepare detailed cost estimates for construction projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead costs. Analyze blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, materials, and labor estimates. Utilize construction estimating software such as HeavyBid to create precise estimates. Collaborate with project managers to ensure that all aspects of the project are accounted for in the estimate. Conduct site visits to assess project conditions and gather necessary information for accurate estimating. Monitor costs throughout the project lifecycle to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints (Cost control). Negotiate contracts with subcontractors and suppliers to secure favorable pricing and terms. Maintain organized records of estimates, contracts, and related documents for future reference. Provide support during the bidding process by preparing bid proposals and presenting them to clients. Requirements Proven experience in construction estimating or a related field is essential. Strong knowledge of construction management principles and practices. Proficiency in using construction estimating software (HeavyBid preferred). Excellent analytical skills with a keen attention to detail. Ability to effectively negotiate contracts and pricing with vendors and subcontractors. Strong understanding of cost control measures within the construction industry. Familiarity with project management processes is advantageous. Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment while also being self-motivated. Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
