POSITION SUMMARY
Work in a defined procurement role, analyzing estimates, reviewing proposals, and other pertinent information in order to prepare and present recommendations for subcontract awards. This position will also be responsible for mentoring and training other employees in in becoming proficient in project buyout. This position will report to the Director of Purchasing. The right person for this position must demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills, as well as have strong communication skills.
Summary of Responsibilities:
Developing bidders list
Prequalifying subcontractors
Evaluating estimates
Evaluating construction schedules and establishing award schedules
Soliciting and communicating with subcontractors
Evaluating/analyzing bidder proposals
Conducting scope review meetings with subcontractors
Completing timely buyout
Awarding bid package work to subcontractors
Writing subcontract Exhibits
Supporting estimating and preconstruction efforts
Diligence in risk analysis – Financial, Safety, Past Performance, Manpower availability, etc.
Interface with Project Managers/Superintendents regarding scope and recommendations
Interface with A/E to facilitate scope clarifications
Provide direction to support staff to assist in buyout efforts
Mentor, train and monitor assistant buyers and interns Qualifications Required Skills Ability to communicate in a firm, fair and professional manner

Competency in reading design documents including drawings and specifications

Ability to provide direction to others (Jr. Purchasers, Interns, etc.) Expected Hours of Work This is a full-time position. Standard work hours are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 pm. This position will however require some long hours and weekend work from time to time. Education and Experience Degree in Management, Construction Management, Engineering with 5-7 yrs. experience or 7-10+ yrs. industry relative experience with a strength in procurement.
Strong computer skills
Proficient in Microsoft office
Familiarity with Bidding, OST, Estimating, BIM software packages
