Role:

The Estimator is an integral part of theelectrical construction process and ensures competitiveness,profitability, and growth. The Estimator is responsible for costestimates for various electrical construction projects. CompanyOverview Since 1912, Sturgeon Electric Company, Inc., a subsidiaryof MYR Group, Inc, has provided comprehensive electricalconstruction services to clients throughout the western U.S.Sturgeon Electric has two divisions, offering both power lineconstruction and commercial/industrial electrical construction,making it a full service electrical provider. Sturgeon Electric’sCommercial and Industrial (C&I) electrical constructiondivision specializes in large-scale commercial electrical projects,telecommunications, traffic signalization, gas distribution, highvoltage distribution service and maintenance to clients. SturgeonElectric has experience performing projects under Integrated LeanProject Delivery methods, and also offers pre-constructionservices, in-house pre-fabrication capabilities, and BuildingInformation Modeling (BIM) capabilities Essential Functions Preparecomplete cost estimates for substation construction projectsUnderstand and monitor program of work to ensure estimates arecompleted prior to deadlines Schedule and attend field walk-downswith customer, subcontractor, and construction personnel tounderstand and determine constructability requirements Performfield take-offs/evaluations for estimate preparation Comparevarious project documents for accuracy and consistency Participatein estimate review process with internal and external stake holdersAssist construction personnel throughout the project life-cycle intracking and understanding basis of cost estimate Assist in thepreparation and submission of change orders Follow-up at the end ofa project to close any loops in the estimating process Understandand comply with the Company’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethicsand other industry-specific professional and ethical conductstandards, if applicable

About You:

Qualifications for Estimator IMinimum 1

  • 3 years of Estimating experience Bachelor’s degree inEngineering, Construction Management or a similar field;combination of relevant education and experience considered in lieuof degree Experience in transportation, roadway projects, civilconstruction preferred Qualifiations for Estimator II Minimum 3
  • 5years of estimating experience in the electrical infrastructureindustry required Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, ConstructionManagement or related field; combination of relevant education andexperience considered in lieu of degree Experience intransportation, roadway projects, civil construction preferredKnowledge/Skills/Abilities Good knowledge of local electrical codesAbility to read and understand civil, architectural, structural,mechanical, etc.

plans and specifications to include blueprints,proposals and other relevant documents Knowledgeable of electricalmaterials and methods of installation Proficient with MicrosoftOffice applications and estimating software Excellent analytical,organizational, verbal, written, and communication skills Teamplayer mentality Self-driven with the ability to stay on-task forextended periods of time while working independently

What We Offer:

Compensation & Benefits Salary $75,000

  • 100,000 / year Commensuratewith experience, paid weekly. Posted salary ranges are made in goodfaith. MYR Group reserves the right to adjust ranges depending onthe qualifications of the selected candidate. ?????????????????Comprehensive benefits package
