Job Overview:
Nationwide Turf Installation, Inc. is seeking a Construction Estimator to join our growing Project Management team in St. Louis, MO. This critical role is responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for civil construction, underground utilities, and concrete work within the exciting Athletic Sports Construction industry. You’ll play a vital part in ensuring project success – from detailed quantity take-offs to vendor negotiations and bid preparation. The ideal candidate will bring 3+ years of construction estimating experience and/or CAD experience, along with a keen eye for detail and strong collaboration skills.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Supervise civil construction phases for sports facility projects, including earthwork, sub-base construction, drainage systems, concrete slabs, and site infrastructure. Coordinate with sports surface specialists (turf, track, court installers) to ensure proper site preparation and compliance with sport-specific standards (FIFA, NCAA, IAAF, etc.). Review and interpret site plans, grading designs, and technical specifications to guide construction activities. Maintain proactive communication with project managers, architects, subcontractors, and quality control teams. Ensure site activities adhere to safety regulations, environmental standards, and project timelines. Track and report daily project progress, resource use, and material deliveries. Manage and direct subcontractors and labor crews, promoting productivity and construction excellence. Support testing and commissioning of installed surfaces and civil elements to ensure compliance with performance standards. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Perform precise quantity take-offs from construction drawings, grading plans, and technical specifications. Solicit, evaluate, and negotiate vendor and subcontractor quotes for materials and services. Analyze project documents to determine accurate time, cost, labor, and material estimates. Prepare and present comprehensive cost summaries and bid packages. Collaborate closely with Project Managers and Field Operations to ensure seamless handoff from preconstruction to project execution. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry pricing, construction trends, and market conditions. Support continuous improvement of estimating processes and proposal quality.
Qualifications:
Minimum 3 years of construction estimating experience (civil, concrete, or utilities preferred). Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Windows OS. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and technical specifications. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and negotiation skills. CAD experience is a plus (preferred). Associates Degree preferred (or equivalent work experience).
