Cost Manager (LBCMNY) Position Available In New York, New York

Develop budget estimates by performing accurate quantity take offs using plans and specifications, or conceptual information. Review, interpret and accurately estimate the scope of assigned work as described in the project documents. Provide pricing expertise by applying technical knowledge of the construction industry, cost estimation methods, and an ability to identify and analyze all factors affecting costs – such as the price of raw materials and labor, construction time, local market conditions, and impact of delays due to extraneous factors such as bad weather and shipping delays. Apply unit costs and productivity rates, as provided by supervisor. Solicit and collect subcontractor and vendor bids or quotations. Develop and nurture subcontractor/vendor and client relationships. Prepare subcontractor analysis sheets for assigned scope of work. Evaluate changes and subcontractor change order estimates. Provide expertise in all phases of construction work. Support senior management by providing technical cost reports and expertise/information, often at short notice. Perform other duties that are reasonably associated with the above essential functions and additional duties assigned by supervisor. Telecommuting Permitted.

Salary range:

$121,388.25 – $131,388.25 per year.

Position requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Quantity Surveying, Engineering, or a related field (or foreign equivalent), plus 2 years of experience in the job offered, or in a related occupation.

Position requires experience or education in the following skills:1. Pricing phases of construction work and producing cost estimates;2. Interpreting scope documents from construction drawings to complete quantity takeoffs and develop budget/cost estimates;3. Producing budget/cost estimates and cashflow reports including material pricing, location conditions, lead time, inflation, demand and labor availability;4. Applying unit costs and productivity rates to budget/cost estimates; and5. Change Management Processes.
