We’ve teamed up with a leading Electrical Contractor based in the Wilmington, Delaware area to support their search for an experienced and results-driven Electrical Estimator focused on Substation Services and Distribution Projects . With a strong project pipeline—including high-value projects up to $100 million —this is a rare opportunity to join a company at the forefront of electrical infrastructure development in the Mid-Atlantic region.
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Electrical Estimator with a proven background in estimating Substation and Distribution projects. This individual will play a key role in evaluating project specifications, preparing competitive bids, and supporting operational and project management teams in the successful execution of high-profile electrical work. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and brings a strategic approach to estimating complex utility-scale projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Review substation and overhead distribution plans, drawings, and specifications to accurately determine project scope and requirements Estimate material, equipment, and labor costs needed to complete bids Identify potential cost savings and project risks Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and field operations to align estimates with execution strategies Maintain and update internal cost databases and estimating tools Prepare and submit competitive bids and proposals for public and private sector clients Participate in bid reviews and client meetings as needed Track industry pricing trends and maintain current knowledge of labor markets, subcontractor rates, and material pricing
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and work experience) Minimum 5 years of experience in the electrical construction industry, with a strong focus on substation and distribution estimating Deep understanding of utility infrastructure, substations, and high-voltage electrical systems Strong working knowledge of estimating software and MS Office Suite Proven ability to manage multiple estimates and work under tight deadlines Excellent communication, organizational, and negotiation skills Strong analytical and math skills with a high attention to detail Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. Nino Development is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
