Monday-Friday Job Duties :
Install ceramic, porcelain, and other types of tiles on floors, walls, and other surfaces.
Responsibilities include:
Measure and cut tiles using tile-cutting tools Prepare surfaces by applying adhesives or grout Lay tiles in specified patterns and ensure proper alignment Set and secure tiles, smooth grout, and install trims or borders Cut tiles to fit around corners and fixtures Maintain cleanliness of the job site and dispose of waste properly Inspect finished work for quality and make any needed repairs Follow safety standards and communicate with supervisors about layout or changes
Minimum Requirements :
Education :
None Experience :
24 months of experience as a
Tile or Stone Setter Training :
12 months of training in Construction, Flooring, or Tile Installation (can be apprenticeship, on-the-job, etc.) Alternate Requirements (acceptable): 24 months of training instead of work experience Must be in related fields such as
Construction, Tile Cutting, Installation Techniques Special Requirements :
Must be able to perform physically demanding tasks (e.g., kneeling, lifting, carrying materials) Ability to work with tile-cutting tools and follow layout instructions Must work well in a team environment and be physically capable of standing for long periods
