Position Description:

The Weatherization Technician will work in occupied homes taking direction from the Crew Lead to install weatherization measures. The primary job function will be weatherization scope installation including air sealing and insulation, though there will be opportunity to learn building science testing techniques including blower door testing, combustion safety testing and additional testing and diagnostic procedures.

Required Qualifications:

18+ years of age Valid Massachusetts Driver’s License and clean driving record Must pass Criminal Background check and Drug screen Be a good teammate Positive attitude, curiosity and willingness to learn new skills Valued, but not required: Light carpentry skills as required for weatherization work scopes 6 months or more of experience as a weatherization installer Experience working in occupied housing

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Follow instructions and install air sealing, insulation and weatherization measures to MassSave and company standards. Arrive on time to shop and job sites with a good attitude ready to improve someone’s home. Support Crew Lead and additional company staff as needed on site and in the company office and shop. Perform other duties as requested and required.

Working Conditions & Physical Demands:

The ability to: Stand, sit, bend, stoop, kneel, crawl, climb, and work from ladders Reach above head, look and work from under floor level Use power tools including drills and saws Stretch both arms out from body Work in all temperatures and all seasons Push and pull up to 50lbs. without any assistance Drive box truck Crawl in attics, crawl spaces and climb to check roofs Load and unload trucks Perform work including but not limited to installing insulation in attics, basements, crawlspaces, walls, vents, window and doors
