chokersetter / chaser / log bucker Mainline Natural Resources, PC Asheville, NC 28803 Overview Mainline Natural Resources is a forestry and logging services company in western North Carolina. We are hiring for a Chokersetter / Chaser / Log Bucker. This position requires individuals who are physically fit and capable of working in various outdoor conditions. the chokersetter works in primary log extraction from the forest to roadside and will be knowledgeable in log merchandising by species and grade. Experience with a chainsaw is required, commitment to safe work practices is critical. Work will typically be within 100 miles of Asheville, North Carolina. This is an exciting role for anyone who is driven by excellence and motivated by production. Duties Set chokers around logs. Possible equipment operation such as bulldozer or other equipment.
Assist in the bucking process:
cutting logs into specified lengths, limbing or flushing knots as necessary. Ensure efficient workflow and safe operating methods are followed. Flex to assist in logging applications as needed Skills Commitment to safety, problem solving, and productivity Understanding of logging operations and techniques. Safe and efficient use of a chainsaw. Physical stamina and strength to enjoy handling demanding tasks. Equipment operation, knowledge of maintenance and repair of machinery, drivers license, and CDL, are all additional valued skills Knowledge of tree species Ability to work effectively as part of a team and self-motivated.
