Full-Time Position Summary:

The 50-Ton Rotator Wrecker Driver is responsible for operating heavy-duty towing equipment, specifically a 50-ton rotator wrecker, to recover and transport disabled, wrecked, or illegally parked vehicles. This role requires expert-level driving, recovery techniques, and mechanical knowledge to perform accident recoveries, rollovers, winch-outs, and complex recovery operations safely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:

Operate 50-ton rotator wreckers for accident recovery, vehicle extractions, and heavy-duty towing operations. Respond to emergency calls in a timely and professional manner. Use rigging, winches, booms, and cables to perform rollovers and recover vehicles and equipment from ditches, embankments, and other difficult situations. Work closely with law enforcement, DOT, and insurance companies on scene. Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections and report maintenance needs promptly. Ensure vehicle and equipment are clean, maintained, and ready for immediate use. Accurately complete paperwork, including work orders, invoices, and timesheets. Maintain professionalism, safety, and customer service standards at all times. Be on-call during nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Requirements:

Education & Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent. Minimum 3-5 years of experience in heavy-duty towing and recovery. Previous experience operating a rotator wrecker required.

Licenses & Certifications:

Valid Class A or B CDL with clean driving record. Certification in WreckMaster or TRAA preferred. DOT Medical Card.

Skills & Abilities:

In-depth understanding of towing and recovery techniques, rigging, and equipment operation. Ability to read and interpret recovery scenarios and assess best methods for safe extractions. Strong mechanical aptitude. Ability to work under pressure in hazardous and time-sensitive situations. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to lift 75+ pounds and work in all weather conditions. Frequent standing, walking, bending, kneeling, and climbing in outdoor and roadside environments.

Work Environment:

Exposed to roadside hazards, including traffic and inclement weather. May work long hours, including nights and weekends.
