Business 360® is Eventide’s framework for evaluating both a company’s long-term competitive advantages and its impact on human flourishing by analyzing its operations and strategy through the lens of key stakeholders. The Business 360® team provides deep analytic and research support to the portfolio management team on key Business 360® areas, using data and discernment to identify companies that are creating the most value for stakeholders. The Director of Business 360® will oversee and preserve the integrity of Business 360® screening to represent Eventide’s prospectus values that are rooted in a biblical world view. Duties and Responsibilities § Lead and empower an experienced team of Business 360® Research Analysts to make effective pass (“Embrace”) or fail (“Avoid”) decisions for companies, adhering to Business 360® screening methodology. § Ensure that pass and fail screening and Embrace rating research is properly conducted on all portfolio companies o Work alongside industry analysts to improve methodology for Embrace research o Support industry analysts in performing and documenting Embrace research across stakeholders o Expand the investable universe by researching new companies that are not already covered. § Support industry analysts in performing engagements with portfolio companies while promoting Eventide values o Ensure that all engagements are properly documented and follow our compliance framework o Maintain a pro-business posture, assuming the best in these companies o Encourage management teams to pursue products and services that promote the common good § Lead discussion of discernment when there is disagreement about biblical interpretation by implementing the views of the founding members of Eventide § Ensure that proxy voting guidelines represent Eventide’s mission and values o Vote all proxies in line with these values o Publicly represent and defend proxy voting record as needed § Oversee and ensure that the Edify database is accurate and up to date o Manage monthly data uplift process. o Stay on top of vendor methodologies and adjust Edify thresholds when appropriate. o Work well across data vendors to ensure that Eventide always has access to the best data and research o Collaborate well with Head of Portfolio Analytics and programming team § Serve as internal advocate for Eventide and for Business 360® o Attend weekly investment team meetings to stay current on macro and sector level issues. o Meet with sales team to equip them with stories that encourage advisors about our portfolio companies. § Serve as a public advocate for Eventide and for Business 360® o Work with the Marketing team to create marketing documents and videos that explain the depth of Business 360® o Represent Eventide’s Investment philosophy to various audiences including at client meetings, due diligence meetings, and industry conferences, as needed o Meet externally with financial advisors to discuss process, and to demo Edify system. Qualifications § 7+ years of qualitative research experience, preferably in values-based investing or similar mission driven organizations § Bachelor’s degree in business, finance or similar field required; MBA or Master’s degree preferred § Strong business acumen and judgment § Demonstrated ability to lead teams and manage competing priorities in a dynamic, entrepreneurial and changing environment § Excellent public speaking and presentation skills, with ability to articulate Eventide’s mission and values to a variety of audiences § Strong written and verbal communication skills § Strong relationship management skills to collaborate well across teams § Passion for and commitment to Eventide’s mission and investment philosophy and alignment with Eventide’s Business 360® values § Demonstrate the core values of Eventide in execution of duties and decision-making § Ability to work in compliance of
