Exempt Responsibilities Facilitate collaboration between labor and management to achieve shared goals and support TEF’s workforce development initiatives. Leads and develops joint labor management training work to identify needs and resources Provide organization development consulting on joint projects and initiatives to labor and management in healthcare systems/facilities union Effectively interact with client organizations to solicit ideas and turn business problems into viable projects; leverage client experiences and best practices to drive change; works autonomously in limited scope or small independent projects Establish relationships/serves as primary liaison with key stakeholders Track changes and innovations in the healthcare industry and professions; assess needs of new clients (union and management) and determine correct interventions Participate in the development of curriculum/workshop presentations to expand the knowledge, skills and attitudes of clients Document progress and results of projects through case studies, reports to Directors, Senior sponsors, project management and other creative methods Assist in researching, collecting data, monitoring progress and reporting out of performance outcomes and documenting progress Maintain the confidentiality required of the organization and the department Perform additional duties and projects as assigned by management Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Labor Relations, Organizational Development, Healthcare Management, or equivalent years of experience required, Master’s degree preferred Minimum five (5) years training, consulting or adult education or other related experience in a labor-management environment required; to include experience in healthcare settings and knowledge of healthcare reform preferred Advance experience of facilitating process improvement methodologies (i.e. PDCA, Breakthrough, Work-Out; Lean; Six Sigma, etc) and project management; developing and delivering healthcare training and conducting evaluation activities Understanding of organizational relational dynamics specifically as it relates to labor and management relationship Demonstrates flexibility/versatility when working with clients and colleagues Mid-level mediation skills; ability to mediate simple conflicts between parties at departmental level Understanding of collective bargaining practices and principles Demonstrated leadership skills in the education or training field; effectively able to influence, motivate and lead clients, manage multiple priorities and meet tight deadlines Strong skills in organizational relational dynamics specifically as it relates to labor and management relationships; ability to decipher issues, underlying concerns and assist in moving towards desired change Ability to work autonomously on mid-sized projects under the direction of the Assistant Director or Director Excellent written and verbal communication skills; strong active listening, good self-awareness, recognizing impact on others and ability to manage boundaries Ability to travel to various locations in the New York City and Upstate NY area Available to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends as needed
