$53 – 55 /hr (BOE) Job Description The Software /Business Analyst will analyze and document applications, workflowprocesses, and other strategies, standards, and best practices. TheOptimize Applications project is an initiative to update the ITSsupported Business Applications to align with ITS’ overall strategyfor applications to be on the current (N) or current – 1 (N-1)version and utilizing shared platforms where possible, thusproviding the best support possible for our client.
Responsibilities Tasks will include but not limited to thefollowing: Work closely with the project manager, ITS manager,technical team members, and other project stakeholders to provideproject guidance. Study the business and software applicationdomains to understand the problem space and work with the projectteam to develop effective software solutions. Work as a liaison tosoftware users and Subject Matter Experts to elicit, analyze,communicate, validate, and verify the requirements for complexchanges to current business processes, policies, and informationsystems and the development of new business processes, policies,and information systems and to translate requirements into systemdesigns which meet business objectives, adapting more efficientprocesses where possible. Convey the requirements of the softwareusers to the development team Create business requirementsdocuments, context diagrams, business requirements documents (BRD),system “as-is” and “to be” states, system specifications, use casesand workflow diagrams, report and screen mockups, swim lanediagrams, and prototypes. Provide the development team with clearlyarticulated artifacts. Ensure that artifacts required by the ITSgovernance process and Secure Systems Development Lifecycle (SSDLC)are created and support the project scope. Facilitate the adoptionof standard patterns and designs that support the application,data, and security architecture strategy for applications. Activelyadapt to changing technology needs and frameworks to best serve thetechnical and business needs of the organization. Leverage theSecure Software Development Life Cycle (SSDLC) for all activities.
Leverage best practices, patterns, and standards for thedevelopment of new and existing systems. Assist with creatingaccurate time estimates for the completion of technicaldocumentation and execution tasks. Manage requirements through thelife of the contract using a requirements management plan andtraceability to ensure coverage between the source of eachrequirement and the test case(s) it will be tested by. Responsiblefor any other tasks assigned by management. Job Qualification 7years of experience performing analysis by eliciting then analyzingthe stakeholder’s business needs using a variety of analysistechniques and converting those into verified and validatedfunctional and non-functional requirements for development. 7 yearsof experience creating and maintaining software developmentartifacts for communication of requirements, including contextdiagrams, textual use cases, swim lane diagrams, reportspecifications, wireframes, user interface specifications, andnon-functional requirements specifications. 7 years of experiencefacilitating requirement workshops, JAD sessions, and structuredwalkthroughs, practicing effective communication to ensurerequirements are understood, conveyed, and met. 6 years ofexperience creating test plans/cases, managing defects withdevelopment teams, and working with users on User AcceptanceTesting. 6 years of experience managing requirements throughout theRequirements Management Lifecycle, including creation and executionof a Requirements Management Plan, requirements traceability,establishing requirements baselines, and managing requirementschange control. 3 years of experience working with healthcare andbilling applications. CBAP (Certified Business AnalysisProfessional) certification by the International Institute ofBusiness Analysis (IIBA). Equal Opportunity Employer. M/F/D/V
