Job Description
Senior Buyer I Park at OWA LLC Foley, AL The Senior Buyer I acts as a purchasing agent on behalf of OWA Parks & Resort based on the needs of the business and in accordance with internal controls, Tribal policies, and procedures.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Performs purchasing functions to secure the highest quality products and services at the most competitive prices Evaluates and selects vendors while collaborating with department managers Maintains procurement records and system inventory; assists with period-end physical inventory counts Expedites the delivery of goods, items, and services Performs functions in Stratton Warren, the company’s purchasing system, including maintaining the item master, creating purchase orders, and placing orders with various vendors Contacts suppliers to place orders; ensures the quality, quantity, and timeliness of delivery requirements are met Gathers information for vendor qualifications and establishment of credit/accounts Conducts purchasing procedures which conform to OWA Parks & Resort and the Poarch Band of Creek Indians standards Interfaces with external and internal customers and/or departments on a bi-weekly basis to ensure the procurement team is providing a value-added service to their customers Provides continuous improvement to daily purchasing operations by mentoring and training Conducts regular analysis to report savings and reduce variances Maintains the strictest confidentiality of data Performs other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or GED Bachelor’s degree in business or related field Six (6) years extensive buying experience in a multiple-outlet/multiple-property operation Experience with Stratton Warren purchasing systems – preferred Strong project management skills with ability to handle multiple projects concurrently Ability to forecast requirements to plan for and meet operational needs as the situation arises Able to work independently and as part of a team Working knowledge of computerized accounting processes, accounting-based software, and programs such as Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel; Great Plains, a plus Strong skills using and understanding the flow of transactions in an integrated and automated system Must possess excellent problem solving/judgment skills with high-level attention to detail and accuracy Must be well organized and able to handle multiple priorities Must possess the ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion Must be willing to work odd and irregular hours, including weekends Willing to travel and participate in training as recommended or required Must possess a valid state driver’s license Interested applicants can apply directly at www.visitowa.com/employment Education Preferred Bachelors or better in General Business or related field
