Material Buyer and Inventory Lead KirbyLink Vicksburg, MS 39180 Job Overview Join a growing, manufactured home builder known for quality craftsmanship, on-time delivery, and exceptional customer service. We are looking for an experienced Materials Buyer and Inventory Lead to oversee purchasing operations and manage inventory to support our production team efficiently. The Materials Buyer and Inventory Lead will play a critical role in ensuring the timely procurement of materials and the proper management of inventory levels. This role requires a hands-on professional with a deep understanding of purchasing, vendor management, inventory control, and the materials commonly used in manufactured home building or construction. Duties Manage end-to-end purchasing of all raw materials, supplies, and components required for production. Source and negotiate with suppliers to secure the best pricing, quality, and delivery schedules. Monitor inventory levels, maintain appropriate stock levels, and conduct regular inventory audits. Collaborate with production, scheduling, and finance teams to ensure material availability and cost efficiency. Establish and maintain strong vendor relationships; evaluate vendor performance and resolve any supply issues. Analyze usage trends and forecast material needs to prevent production delays or overstock situations. Create and maintain purchase orders, inventory records, and vendor files. Work closely with the operations team to continuously improve material flow and inventory processes. Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and industry regulations. Identify opportunities for cost savings, process improvements, and supply chain efficiencies.
Qualifications:
Minimum 5+ years of purchasing and inventory experience 3 years in manufactured housing, residential construction, or related industries. Strong knowledge of building materials, vendor management, and inventory control processes. Excellent negotiation, communication, and organizational skills. Proficient in inventory management software, and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to challenges. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. High attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
Preferred Experience:
Previous experience working directly with manufactured home builders or similar construction trades.

$70,000.00 – $80,000.00 per year
