CEO of McLeod Clarendon Hospital/VP – Administration 3.7 3.7 out of 5 stars 10 East Hospital Street, Manning, SC 29102 Position Summary The CEO/VP of McLeod Health Clarendon is responsible for the executive leadership and operational oversight of the local hospital campus, ensuring high standards of care, regulatory compliance, strategic alignment with corporate goals, and community engagement. This role ensures the facility functions as an integrated part of the McLeod Health system while also serving the specific needs of the local community. Essential Responsibilities Leadership & Strategy Serve as the executive leader of the hospital campus, promoting McLeod Health’s Mission, Vision, and Values and lead by exemplifying the organizations core values of the value of caring, the value of the person, the value of quality, and the value of integrity. Provide strategic direction, operational leadership, and executive oversight to all departments and service lines at the hospital. Works cooperatively with McLeod Physician Associates and ambulatory leadership on service line development, both inpatient and outpatient, across the patient care market. Operational Oversight Direct daily hospital operations, ensuring efficiency, regulatory compliance, and optimal patient outcomes. Oversee inpatient, outpatient, administrative, and support services, maintaining alignment with corporate standards and local needs. Collaborate with system-level leaders to ensure consistent processes and performance improvement initiatives. Governance & Policy Advise the COO and President on organizational direction; assist in implementing board-approved programs and initiatives. Participate in the development, implementation, and monitoring of system-wide policies and hospital-specific procedures. Present regular reports to the Community Board as outlined in the bylaws. Financial Management Develop and manage the hospital’s annual operating budget as well as staffing and capital plans. Participate in the development of capital plans in conjunction with the Capital Management Committee. Ensure fiscal responsibility and performance consistent with system benchmarks. Quality, Compliance, & Accreditation Ensure readiness and compliance with all applicable licensing, accreditation, and regulatory standards (CMS, DHEC, DNV/Joint Commission). Partner with the SVP of Quality and Safety and local quality leaders on quality improvement, risk management, and regulatory strategy. Lead local performance improvement initiatives aligned with McLeod’s ISO certification and strategic improvement programs. Medical Staff Relations Collaborate closely with Medical Staff leadership to address patient care needs, clinical service development, and physician engagement. Support physician recruitment, retention, and satisfaction, promoting a culture of partnership and respect. Community & External Relations Serve as the hospital’s ambassador to the community, civic organizations, and external stakeholders. Support fundraising efforts in collaboration with the McLeod Foundation and provide strategic input on grants and philanthropy. Build and maintain strategic relationships with key local and regional partners. Qualifications Education Master’s degree in healthcare administration, Business Administration, Public Health, or equivalent offsetting experience. Experience Minimum of 10 years of progressive leadership in healthcare operations or health system administration; experience in a multi-hospital system preferred. Demonstrated success in leading quality, financial, operational, and cultural initiatives. Certifications Membership in the American College of Healthcare Executives (ACHE) preferred. Active involvement in state and national healthcare associations highly desirable.
