Position Summary:
The Facilities Manager is responsible for the overall maintenance and management of the ICB facilities. This role ensures that the physical environment is safe, clean, and well-maintained to support the activities and programs of the center. The Facilities Manager will work closely with staff, volunteers, and contractors to oversee daily operations and long-term facility projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintenance and Repairs:
Conduct regular inspections of the building and grounds to identify maintenance needs. Perform minor repairs and coordinate with external contractors for major repairs and renovations. Ensure all systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical) are functioning properly and address any issues promptly.
Safety and Compliance:
Ensure the facility complies with all local, state, and federal safety regulations. Maintain records of inspections, maintenance, and repairs. Implement and monitor safety protocols, including fire safety, emergency exits, and first aid supplies.
Cleaning and Upkeep:
Oversee cleaning staff or volunteers to ensure the facility is clean and presentable at all times. Manage waste disposal and recycling programs. Ensure restrooms, prayer areas, and common areas are well-maintained and stocked with necessary supplies.
Event Support:
Coordinate with event organizers to ensure facility readiness for various programs and activities. Set up and take down furniture and equipment for events as needed. Assist with logistical support during events to ensure smooth operations.
Facility Improvement:
Identify opportunities for facility improvements and efficiency enhancements. Develop and manage a schedule for regular maintenance and upgrades. Propose and oversee small to medium-scale improvement projects.
Budget Management:
Manage the facilities budget, ensuring cost-effective solutions for maintenance and repairs. Maintain an inventory of maintenance supplies and equipment. Source and negotiate with vendors for supplies and services.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical or vocational training preferred. Proven experience in facilities management, maintenance, or a related field. Basic knowledge of building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical) and maintenance procedures. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Physical ability to perform manual labor and lift heavy objects as needed. Familiarity with safety regulations and compliance standards.
Additional Information:
This is a part-time position requiring 20 hours per week, with some flexibility in scheduling. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required to support events and activities. The Facilities Manager will report to the ICB Board of Directors or a designated supervisor.
