Position Summary :
The Associate Director, Fundraising Campaigns & Volunteer Engagement (Special Events) is a strong fundraiser that implements and executes strategies that generate revenue in support of the Foundation’s mission including, but not limited to, special events. Reporting to the Director, Fundraising Campaigns & Volunteer Engagement, the Associate Director manages leadership volunteers and committees to drive fundraising success. The Associate Director will implement best practices and cultivate partnerships and alliances that will promote growth and awareness in the community and meet or exceed fundraising goals.
This role is hybrid:
2 days/week in the Chapter office in Purchase, NY and 3 days/week remote.
Essential Functions & Responsibilities :
Lead and be accountable for the fundraising and planning of special events, including gala, golf outing and other events as assigned. Grow existing fundraising event capacity year over year by ensuring best practices are implemented and strong fundraising plans are in place. Recruit and engage high level volunteer leaders and committee members to assist in implementing the fundraising strategies that lead to revenue growth. Prepare and manage budget (income and expense) and work plan (with timeline and deliverables) for the successful completion of fundraising events. Maintain accurate and complete records and files for fundraising events and routinely review the status of each with the Director, Fundraising Campaigns & Volunteer Engagement. Conduct planning and evaluative meetings with Director, Fundraising Campaigns & Volunteer Engagement, national partner and assigned volunteers related to each fundraising event, program, and activity. Oversee the production of all collateral materials related to fundraising events, programs, and activities. Including websites, invitations, social media content, slide decks, and e-journals. Perform all other duties and tasks required to support all new and/or proposed fundraising events, programs, and activities. Volunteer Engagement Build a compelling vision for revenue growth and collaborate with high level volunteer leaders and staff to achieve it. Work with leadership volunteers to identify, recruit, and engage volunteers who have potential to make an impact. Build strong and effective partnerships with volunteers and supporters and help foster a culture of accountability. Partner with and support volunteer committees to drive success in campaigns and grow support for our mission. Serve as a key leader in your market area building relationships, raising awareness, and sharing mission impact with constituents. Other duties as required.
Qualifications :
Bachelor’s degree preferred. 5+ years in not-for-profit fundraising, preferably with a health-related organization. Demonstrated success in the recruitment, engagement, and cultivation of high-impact volunteers. Demonstrated track record in committee development within fundraising campaigns. Strong leadership skills in volunteer engagement. Outstanding communication skills, both written and oral, with public speaking ability that will inspire and motivate others. Excellent presentation skills and ability to teach, mentor and coach volunteers to achieve results. Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with board members, volunteers, and donors. Self-motivated, results oriented leader with strong organizational skills and attention to detail. High level of diplomacy, patience, and flexibility. Proficiency in using Microsoft suite (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
