General Description The purpose of this position is to coordinate the activities of the University of Montevallo Foundation, oversee all campaign activities and report to the Executive Vice President of Advancement and President of the University of Montevallo. The Executive Director of the Foundation is responsible for fundraising in the public and private sectors for the advancement of the university. Essential Job Duties Oversee the operations of the University of Montevallo Foundation, including investment, development and audit.
Plan, manage and implement the Major and Planned Giving Program.
Coordinate with other fundraising staff to maximize annual support and boost engagement.
Qualify and cultivate prospective donors.
Supevise and lead staff to include assigning duties, conducting performance evaluations, approving leave reports/timesheets, ensuring that work assignments are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
Work with individuals with diverse backgrounds, focus on the management of potential donors of $25,000+ and maintaining a portfolio of approximately 200 donors.
Plan, coordinate and manage all campaign activities including events and programs, Campaign Steering Committee meetings, and a comprehensive program of volunteer recruitment, training and development
Develop and propose strategies for solicitation of major gifts, including maintain ongoing relationships with prospect/donor through prospect visits; recommending specific purpose and level of gift; identify those to be involved in cultivation and subsequent solicitation; assuring that solicitations are carried out. The individual holding this position will serve as a representative of the University and, as such, shall promote a positive impression by demonstrating a collegial and professional customer-service approach at all times. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge or other fund-raising software program;
Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.);
Knowledge of Facebook, LinkedIn and other social media outlets;
Ability to work independently and creatively;
Excellent communication skills both written and verbal;
Excellent customer service skills;
Ability to travel as needed. Education and Experience The educational requirement for this position is: Bachelor’s Degree in a related field; Master’s Degree preferred.

3 years of related experience, preferably with major gifts. Experience with web design and social media is preferred
