INVENTORY SPECIALIST
The Inventory Specialist is responsible for supporting the supply plans, translating demand into creating orders to support production, including materials management of raw & pack, work in-process (WIP), excess, and obsolete inventory. The role is tasked with building and maintaining strong relationships with Pensacola Purchasing, Orlando operations, sales and service to manage stock levels, supporting the schedule and production with operational efficiencies in standard and pre-build business situations. Help with preparation of purchase orders and agreements. Help with monitoring supplier performance and resolving issues and concerns. Understand and follow any quality system that Orlando operations may be certified for.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Accountable for maintaining the integrity of the information in the ERP system regarding products manufactured at the Orlando Facility. Analyze, understand, and convert ERP messages to raw material purchase orders and plans to meet production / forecast demand. Production planning and detailed schedule coordination with the manufacturing department and third-party suppliers producing products on behalf of Paradigm. Purchase manufacturing supply items. Ensure purchase orders are created and keep track of deliveries. Cycle counting and inventory reconciliation (Monthly reporting of accuracy on hand inventory) Issuing materials to the production floor, utilizing FIFO (first in first out) and proper stock rotation Keep stock at above safety-stock levels with a good understanding of minimum order quantity, production consumption and vendor lead times. Creative thinking for problem solving in terms of vendors and products A good understanding of materials tracking for quality system compliance purposes
QUALIFICATIONS
Five (5) years of verifiable related employment experience or a combination of education and verifiable related employment experience required. Experience and basic understanding of quality systems at the
ISO 9000
level preferred. Experience in Lean Manufacturing or Six Sigma environment preferred. Ability to work in a team environment with knowledge of contract activities and processes associated with government and commercial markets, preferably in a manufacturing environment. Knowledge of
FAR/DFAR
clauses and other applicable laws, regulations, and codes preferred. Proven self-starter with the ability to drive independent problem solving. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively; must be able to communicate with employees, the public, vendors and customers, and all levels of management, maintaining professionalism and respect. Must have working knowledge of computers with ability to work in a Windows environment with various software programs such as Word, Excel, Outlook and MRP system. Experience working in a procurement environment preferred. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Impeccable negotiation and problem-solving skills. Exceptional interpersonal skills and rapport building.
