  • Summary:
  • The Customer Service & Logistics Specialist has primary responsibilityfor managing the relationship between the customer and the Supply Chainwith respect to their assigned accounts.

This process begins with theplacement of an order and continues through receipt of final payment forthat order. The Customer Service & Logistics Specialist manages thisrelationship by: a) becoming intimately familiar with the customer’sorganization, product needs, processes and procedures; b) analyzinghistorical data and account trends; and c) partnering with the Salesteam to provide the highest level of customer service to all accounts.

This information is then used to design efficient and cost-effectivebusiness solutions for the benefit of both the customer and Tyson Foods.

  • Additional Responsibilities Include:
  • Serves as the primary contact between Tyson Foods Supply Chain and theassigned external customer(s), responsible for all aspects of therelationship including receipt of customer orders as well as promptresolution of any issues which may arise throughout the order to cashcycle; works to strengthen Tyson Foods’ relationship with externalcustomers through regular communication, customer visits, and byexpanding relationships with key contacts throughout customer’sorganizations; establishes and maintains positive, effectiverelationships with key internal contacts; utilizes SAP order managementsystem to process customer orders and to monitor compliance of allassigned accounts; maintains knowledge of all internal Tyson Foodspolicies, procedures and software applications; maintains knowledge ofexternal customer’s organizational structure, procedures and all otherpertinent information; utilizes available resources to identify costeffective, supply chain efficiencies to best service the needs of TysonFoods and the customer; identifies and implements creative solutions toresolve issues which negatively impact any aspect of the order-to-cashcycle, Tyson Foods relationship with its customers and/or accuratedelivery of products to external customers.
  • Vendor Managed Inventory (VMI) accounts
  • Manage the supply chain for VMI customer(s) meeting or exceedingcustomer turns and service requirements; monitor customer inventorypositions, generate and manage order writing activities, reconcileexception orders and analyze data to review customer promotions andtrends.

  • Education:
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience
  • Experience:
  • 1•3 years’ business experience•Computer Skills•: Proficient with MS Office applications required; SAP skills preferred•

  • Strong written, oral and interpersonal skills; Conflict Management skills; Ability to multi-task; Positive attitude; Problem Solving skills; Negotiation skills

  • The position requires domestic travel for customer meetings; normal travel is approximately 2-3 times per year
