Job Summary:
The Supply Chain Analyst/Specialist plays a critical role in supporting the company’s supply chain planning and execution. This entry-level to early-career position focuses on demand forecasting, supply planning, CMO coordination, and inventory reconciliation to ensure data-driven decisions and effective risk mitigation. The ideal candidate is analytical, detail-oriented, and passionate about continuous improvement within a fast-paced pharmaceutical or healthcare environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Demand Forecasting & Analysis
- Conduct detailed analysis of customer purchasing behavior, contract trends, and deviations from forecasts.
- Maintain and update a rolling 12-month forecast, ensuring alignment with sales, operations, and market shifts.
- Identify and communicate changes in demand trends that may affect supply, inventory, or production schedules.
- Analyze bid-to-purchase conversion rates to improve forecast accuracy and bid strategy. Supply Planning
- Assist in the development of short and long-term supply plans based on forecasts, inventory targets, and production capacity.
- Monitor supply performance and identify risks related to stockouts or overstock.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure alignment of supply with current and future demand. CMO Coordination
- Serve as the liaison between internal teams and Contract Manufacturing Organizations (CMOs).
- Track production schedules, review manufacturing updates, and escalate delays or issues as needed.
- Ensure adherence to service level agreements (SLAs), batch release timelines, and shipment schedules. Inventory Reconciliation & Reporting
- Conduct regular inventory reconciliation across internal and third-party warehouses.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies between physical and system inventory.
- Support monthly cycle counts, quarterly reporting, and excess/short-dated inventory reviews.
- Generate weekly and monthly reports to mitigate destruction risk and support proactive customer purchasing. Customer Support & Collaboration
- Collaborate with Customer Service to manage overbuying or unexpected purchase requests.
- Assist with identifying root causes of over/under buying and support corrective actions.
- Provide timely communication to stakeholders regarding potential supply constraints or opportunities.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- Pharmaceutical industry experience is a plus.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP, Power Query).
- Experience with Power BI, SQL, or Tableau required.
- SAP or ERP system experience is preferred.
