We are a 501(c)(3) non-profit domestic violence program serving Dallas, Perry, and Wilcox counties in Alabama. Our trauma-informed domestic violence services aim to ensure immediate access to crisis information and safety planning; on-going client-focused advocacy; and available support services needed to help victims, and their families rebuild safe, stable, and independent lives. Job Description The Executive Director manages the day-to-day operations of SABRA Sanctuary. The Executive Director is responsible for implementing the policies, procedures, and directions of the Board of Directors and for updating the Board of Directors on the progress made within the organization. Duties and Responsibilities Administrative Responsibilities Direct the day-to-day operation of organization to ensure adequate facilities and staffing Assist the Board of Directors in the development of policies and procedures Interpret and implement the policies and procedures established by the Board of Directors Evaluate the overall program on a regular basis for compliance with protocols and standards Report on organizational progress and operations in detail to the Board of Directors bi-weekly Prepare for and attend meetings of the Board of Directors to offer recommendations Hire, train, supervise and evaluate personnel according to current policies and procedures Maintain appropriate employee personnel files according to current policies and procedures Conduct new employee orientation with continued personnel file documentation of training Provide information on professional development training opportunities for employees Manage the daily sign-in and sign-out with destination for employees traveling Implement disciplinary and/or termination procedures for personnel as needed or required Maintain and utilize statistical documentation prepared by employees Perform data entry as required by federal, state, and monitoring agencies. Contract with independent contractors and professionals as required for business operations Serve as the organization’s designated representative at the Alabama Coalition Against Domestic Violence (ACADV) and Alabama Coalition Against Rape (ACAR) functions. Stewardship Responsibilities Assist in the preparation of the annual budget in cooperation with the Board of Directors Manage expenditure according to the budget allocations along with the Board of Directors Prepare and submit funding proposal requests, in a timely manner, with the approval of the Board of Directors. (VOCA, VAWA, DV Trust Fund, Weaver-Parrish Charitable Trust, Wells Fargo, Mary Kay, United Way, County Commission grants, and any newly identified grants) Research for new grant and funding opportunities Prepare and submit any grant compliance reports with the approval of the Board of Directors. Solicit funding and non-monetary donations from the community Help organize and attend fundraisers in cooperation with the Board of Directors. Accept donations for the organization and have them stored or placed appropriately Other Responsibilities Travel as needed for victim service provision, advocacy, outreach, and training Maintain agency forms and required documentation per organization policy. Adhere to SABRA Sanctuary’s Policies and Procedures. Attend public speaking events at local churches and organizations about SABRA Sanctuary. Ensure that the office is kept orderly and clutter free Perform other duties as assigned Minimum Qualifications Interest in domestic and sexual violence prevention Ability to maintain strict client confidentiality Excellent oral and written communication skills Knowledge of grant writing, fundraising, and public relations Familiarity with Microsoft Office and the ability to learn new software programs Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in an office environment Ability to lead, supervise, and motivate others Valid Driver’s License and a privately owned vehicle with liability insurance Willingness to utilize personal vehicles as needed in job performance Preferred Qualifications Associate or bachelor’s degree in business, human services, criminal justice, or a related field Previous experience in management, criminal justice, and accounting Ability to relate to a diverse range of clientele in a non-judgmental manner Ability and willingness to network with representatives from various community agencies Previous experience in a non-profit organization.

$45,000.00 – $52,000.00 per year
