Field Manager Nate’s Hives LaBelle, FL 33935 POSITION SUMMARY The Field Manager for Apiary Operations is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day activities of beekeeping operations across various apiary sites. This role involves supervising field crews, managing hive health, implementing biosecurity protocols, coordinating honey production, and ensuring efficient pollination services. The ideal candidate has strong experience in beekeeping, leadership skills, and a passion for sustainable agriculture.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Supervise and coordinate daily field operations activities. Oversee beekeepers’ tasks such as hive inspections, feeding, queen management, and disease treatment. Ensure hive health by monitoring for pests, diseases, and environmental stressors. Organize seasonal movement of colonies for pollination contracts and honey flows. Train and mentor beekeeping staff on safe and effective apiary practices. Maintain accurate records of hive inventory, treatment schedules, and honey yields. Implement and enforce safety protocols and biosecurity standards. Coordinate with logistics for equipment, supplies, and transportation of hives. Collaborate with management on production goals and reporting. Assist in research and data collection. Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
3+ years of hands-on beekeeping experience. 1-2 years in a supervisory or field leadership role preferred. Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to remote apiary sites. Strong understanding of honey bee biology and apiary management practices. Ability to work in various weather conditions and perform physically demanding tasks with lifting requirements up to 75 pounds. Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Experience with pollination services and commercial beekeeping operations.
