Star Laundromat is a fast-growing full-service laundromat and dry-cleaning business under the Boston Home Service umbrella. We pride ourselves on delivering a consistent, high-quality customer experience while operating efficiently with a hands-on team. We’re currently seeking a General Manager to lead operations at our flagship Brighton location.
Position Overview:
As the General Manager , you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the laundromat and dry-cleaning services. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong organizational skills, system proficiency, staff management, and the ability to troubleshoot both operational and equipment issues. You will lead by example through shift overlap with staff and play a key role in training and performance management.
Key Responsibilities:
Oversee all daily operations of the laundromat and dry-cleaning services Manage, schedule, and train front-line staff to ensure quality service Overlap with key shifts to provide direct training, coaching, and supervision Handle cash, reconcile registers, and maintain accurate financial reporting Monitor and troubleshoot washers, dryers, POS systems, and other equipment Maintain cleanliness, order, and efficiency of store operations Manage inventory and coordinate with vendors for supplies and repairs Track performance metrics and implement improvements as needed Ensure exceptional customer service and resolve customer concerns
Qualifications:
Required:
2+ years of experience managing a laundromat and dry-cleaning operation Strong leadership and team management skills Proficient in using POS systems, spreadsheets, scheduling tools, and maintenance logs Reliable, hands-on, and willing to step in to support operations as needed Strong communication and organizational skills Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and evenings as needed Experience handling cash and reporting financials Mechanically inclined and able to troubleshoot common equipment issues
