Sterile Processing Supervisor (Weekend Evenings) Position Available In Suffolk, Massachusetts

Job Description:

This Sterile Processing Supervisor will be responsible for:

• Planning, organizing and overseeing daily operations for designatedSPD and/or materials processing services. Monitoring workflow andprioritizes work assignments to meet established schedules andclinical requirements. Responding to customer requests andresolving problems as needed. Assisting in development of relatedgoals and objectives
• Developing, implementing, and maintaininginternal policies and procedures for processing, storage, andhandling of medical and surgical supplies and equipment. Developingand implementing new and/or updated decontamination andsterilization methods as needed
• Selecting and supervising staff.

Completing regular performance evaluations. Monitoring workperformance, providing guidance and feedback, and initiatingdisciplinary and other personnel action as warranted with theSterile processing manager single shift and all shifts. Developingand providing in-services and other continuing education programsfor staff development

• Monitoring and ensuring compliance withhospital, departments, and external policies, standards, andregulations. Monitoring current safety, infection control, andother requirements
• Working with customers to resolve problems andensure availability of needed materials
• Supervising andevaluating technical support personnel and organizing, prioritizingand delegating work assignments
• Maintaining inventory ofinstruments, equipment, and materials within area of responsibility
• Maintaining knowledge of current trends and practices inprocurement, processing, and maintenance of medical and surgicalinstruments, equipment, and supplies through participation inprofessional organizations and attendance at relevant continuingeducation programs. Participating in hospital and departmentalcommittees and project teams as appropriate To qualify, you musthave:
• A high school level of education is required. Associatespreferred
• A minimum of three years of related experience as aSterile Processing Technician is required
• Previous experience asa Leader/ Supervisor in Sterile Processing is strongly preferred
• Current Sterile Processing certification is strongly preferred(CRCST)
• SPD Manager certification is preferred (CHL)
• Theability to effectively manage the employees within assignedunit/department
• Communication skills in order to effectively dealwith conflicting views or issues and mediate fair solutions, orwell-developed writing skills
