The impact you will make:
Agios Pharmaceuticals is searching for a dynamic Zone Director tojoin our growing Sales team. We want someone who cares about thisimportant work, and who’s driven to connect to our mission ofhelping these patient communities. The Zone Director will be tolead our national sickle cell build-out and development of a highimpact team to match the urgency and complexity of theseunderserved diseases.
What you will do:
National Sales Strategy &Field Force Design Establish a scalable team structure that ensuresfocus, flexibility, and high share of voice Lead with an enterprisemindset: develop the strategies, tools, metrics, and systems toenable speed-to-impact. Launch & Market Activation Oversee anddeliver field readiness, messaging discipline, and deep HCPengagement Shape and execute go-to-market strategy in collaborationwith Marketing, Access, Advocacy, and Medical Affairs. Drivephysician awareness and urgency around under-treated SCD patientsby educating on the full burden of disease and the unmet need fortherapeutic intervention Team Culture & Leadership Build ahigh-performance, values-driven culture rooted in trust, inclusion,urgency, and sustained excellence. Recruit and developmission-aligned leaders who reflect and respect the diversity ofthe communities they serve. Foster a sense of pride and purpose:this team will help restore trust among SCD patients who haveexperienced decades of bias and neglect. Execution ⨯-Functional Partnership Own national sales forecasts,territory design, IC strategy, targeting, and performancemanagement systems. Serve as the voice of the field—bringingstructured insights and recommendations into commercial planning.
Partner across functions to minimize patient friction, simplifyaccess, and ensure long-term adherence.
What you bring:
Acompetitive, collaborative, & commercial visionary and builder with15 years of biopharma sales and leadership experience, includingnational responsibility. Launch-proven in rare disease, hematology,or specialty markets; experience leading teams in high-Medicaid,access-constrained settings strongly preferred. An entrepreneurialarchitect who thrives in ambiguity, attracts top talent, and canbuild infrastructure that scales. A people-first leader who buildshigh-trust, high-accountability teams where performance andinclusion go together. Deeply familiar with payer dynamics,specialty pharmacy, and patient support models in rare and complexdiseases. Experience navigating matrix organizations with abilityto influence without authority Willing to travel 50% and inspireaction in the field and across the organization. This is aremote based field position. Employees in field roles must residewithin their designated territory. Regular conversations withmanager are encouraged to ensure alignment on in-personpresence/expectations. Travel may be required commensurate to theabove job description and/or to attend team meetings and othercompany events.

Thecurrent base salary range for this position is expected to bebetween $243,080 and $364,620 annualized; final salary will bedetermined based on various factors including, but not limited to,years of relevant experience, job knowledge, skills andproficiency, degree/education, and internal comparators.
