We are seeking a 1st SHIFT, full-time experienced Material Handlers at our Pulaski, TN facility for the shipping & receiving department. Rate of pay is $19.80 per hour. Employees become eligible for Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance after 30 days of employment. In addition, we offer a competitive 401(k) program, paid holidays, and vacation. Tuition assistance is available to employees after 1 year of service.

GENERAL SUMMARY

To ensure safe and efficient movement of product throughout the entire system. Work in the weld, press, and warehouse areas of the facility ensuring timely product/dunnage movement in your area of responsibility. Demonstrates a Continuous Improvement attitude with a willingness to adopt new ideas/skills using TQPS principles.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

To manually or by tow motor move materials, supplies, and finished goods to designated places in the facility or onto trucks and is responsible for all necessary paperwork. Reads work order or follows oral instructions to ascertain materials or containers to be moved. Loads and unloads materials onto or from pallets, trays, racks, and shelves by hand and by motor. Loads and unloads materials into vehicles and installs strapping, bracing, or padding to prevent shifting or damage in transit. Counts, weighs, and records number units of materials moved or handled on daily production records and keeps record of this information. Produces and attaches identifying tags or labels to materials or marks information on cases, bales, or other containers. Removes labels from all upright containers. Stacks or assembles materials into bundles and bands bundles together. Assembles containers to contain products. Ensures that all containers for product are not broken or damaged. Coordinates documentation to physical product to ensure timely, damage-free, and accurate shipments. Interfaces with other business units to ensure timely and accurate receipt of products and to resolve work order discrepancies. Responsible for reporting any incorrect documentation. Completes a daily motor checklist at the beginning of every shift. Observes and obeys all safety procedures and policies. Available for overtime as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
Education:

Required – High school diploma or GED Required – Must pass fork truck certification @ NASG Basic computer skills Must possess a valid driver’s license Demonstrated basic math skills

Experience:

2 Years forklift experience preferably in manufacturing Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills Demonstrated experience in safe material handling practices Preferred previous experience in assembly / manufacturing environment

Personal/Technical Skills:

Ability to work with a dynamic and demanding team. Accurate, efficient, & proactive in daily duties. Ability to conduct basic maintenance or mechanical activities as required. Ability to work at a fast pace. Accountable – teachable – approachable Ability to learn, make decisions, and be creative & flexible. Ability to problem solve. Capable of lifting 50 pounds. Ability to stand up for a minimum of 8 hours.

Language Skills:

Must be able to speak, read, write, and understand the primary language (English)

Computer/Software:

Demonstrated basic computer skills Outlook, Excel, Word.

WORK ENVIRONMENT/CONDITIONS
Plant:

Various types of manufacturing environments. Standard automotive plant environment with moderate noise level. PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) such as safety glasses, steel toe shoes, Kevlar sleeves, hearing protection, etc. may be required in designated engineering, manufacturing, or industrial areas. Personal attire standards may apply. Involves moderate or occasional presence of some slightly disagreeable conditions, i.e., cold, dust, heat, odor, etc.
