HQ CATEGORY MANAGER – PARTS & SUPPLIES
(Full Time, Remote) The Parts & Supplies Category Manager reports to the HQ Director of Parts & Supplies, Product Management. The Category Manager will be responsible for managing and optimizing the parts and supplies category, collaborating with various organizational functions, and driving corporate profitability through innovative product introductions and strategic planning.
Responsibilities:
Manage full Parts & Supplies product category, collaborating with HQ and Regional Product Management on assortment, supplier relations, and negotiations. Develop and maintain product sales, marketing, and inventory strategies for Residential Equipment offerings. Consult with suppliers to introduce innovative technologies and products, enhancing organizational competitiveness and profitability. Interface with Regional Leadership, Product Managers, and HQ teams (Inventory, Planning, Pricing, Operations, Finance) to support company initiatives, sales strategies, and category trends. Develop and execute product promotions and new product launch elements in collaboration with cross-functional teams for regional implementation. Analyze competitive data and pricing, making recommendations for HQ and Regional responses. Manage product costs and sell price positioning to maximize market share and profit margins. Ensure proper parts and supplies inventory at all branches, manage SKU setup and designation, and oversee the disposition of excess, surplus, and non-performing inventory. Provide written updates and direction to Regional Product Managers and sales teams, identify training requirements, and support product training for internal and external customers. Manage product, sales, and pricing information repositories, provide monthly and quarterly business review reports, and communicate inventory levels to balance product availability and working capital.
Requirements:
Qualifications:
Demonstrated success in the HVAC sector, particularly in areas such as products, services, technology, or product management. Experience in retail or consumer industries is a plus. Extensive experience in category management, product assortment planning, and new product introduction, with the ability to leverage new product innovations. Proficiency in Microsoft applications and Salesforce. Strong strategic, analytical, technical, verbal, and written communication skills. Highly organized with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks to successful completion. Exceptional leadership and managerial abilities.
Education:
BA/BS degree (preferred) with 3-5+ years of experience in Product/Category Management or Product Sales, specifically within the HVAC or related industries.
