This position is responsible for welcoming parents, program participants, and family members while ensuring secure facility access for authorized families and vendors. Responsibilities include answering phones, processing payments, and conducting facility tours. The Assistant Director will support the Director in staffing, supervision, purchasing, inventory management, and compliance with state licensing, Bright from the Start regulations, and Quality Rated standards. This role also focuses on customer service, policy administration, program development, and overall center operations, including oversight of the HUB Childwatch program.

Childcare setting:

interacting with children and staff, assisting in classrooms and kitchen. Key Responsibilities Warmly greet families and guests upon arrival and answer inquiries with kindness and professionalism. Verify identities of all individuals requesting child access. Maintain communication via the Brightwheel parent app, including posting center updates. Provide empathetic customer service, addressing concerns with patience and problem-solving skills. Conduct facility tours for prospective families, donors, and partners. Foster positive, professional relationships with staff, volunteers, and families. Step in as an assistant teacher when needed due to staff shortages. Assist in overseeing center programs and promoting services to the community. Ensure daily cleanliness of all center areas, including classrooms, bathrooms, kitchens, hallways, and playgrounds. Maintain accurate child enrollment records in compliance with DPH and BFTS. Plan and submit weekly/monthly food menus and complete Sysco and KAMO food orders on time. Collaborate with the Primetime Area Coordinator to manage invoices and payments. Manage inventory of equipment and supplies. Assist with recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, training, and supervising staff. Provide leadership to staff to ensure program and curriculum goals are met. Supervise HUB Childwatch staff, including support for scheduling and payroll. Attend required staff meetings and training sessions. Uphold and demonstrate the Character Development Values of Caring, Honesty, Respect, Responsibility, and Faith. Support and actively participate in the annual scholarship campaign. Requirements Must pass a national background check, fingerprint check, and Georgia criminal history & background check. Must pass drug testing. Education & Experience Must be at least 21 years old. 5 to 8 years of childcare experience. Associate degree in a related field (Early Education or Child Development preferred) OR current CDA certification with 22+ hours of annual continued training. CPR, First Aid, and Fire Safety certifications required. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel. Personal Qualities Patient, encouraging, and inspiring with both children and staff. Strong conflict resolution and communication skills. High energy and motivation with a leadership presence in all situations. Ability to work with diverse social and economic backgrounds.
