$40,000 – $45,000

Program Overview Established in 1984, Teen Life Counts (TLC) is a suicide prevention and education program offered free of charge to public, private, and parochial schools in the Greater New Orleans area. Students in grades 7-12 learn to recognize the warning signs of suicide, anxiety, and depression and how to seek assistance for themselves or for a friend in crisis. During the 2024-2025 school year, over 2000 students in 20 schools received TLC training. This January, TLC was awarded the status of “Nationally Recognized Best Practice” by the Suicide Prevention Resource Center. JFS is looking for a dedicated and passionate mental health professional to lead and design our suicide prevention program. This role requires a dynamic individual who can connect with youth, understand their needs, and foster a greater understanding of suicidal ideation in young people. As the TLC Program Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the program including program curricula, recruiting schools, planning, teaching, training, and evaluation. You will work closely with community partners and schools, to ensure that the program is accessible, inclusive, and aligned with the needs of the youth population. You will also be expected to stay informed about best practices in suicide prevention in youth and incorporate innovative approaches into programming. The TLC Program Manager reports to the Chief Impact Officer. Responsibilities Develop and implement youth programs aligned with organizational goals Recruit, train, and supervise program staff and volunteers Present program to students, faculty, and school based mental health professionals in person and via ZOOM to groups ranging in size from approximately 15 to 75 people. Manage program budgets and ensure cost-effective operations Evaluate program effectiveness and report outcomes Build partnerships with schools, community organizations, and stakeholders Ensure programs are inclusive, safe, and youth-centered Maintain accurate records and documentation Assist in securing funding through grants and sponsorships Promote program through outreach and marketing efforts Requirements Minimum MSW, LMSW and above preferred. At least 2 years of experience in a health care or social service agency preferably working with youth.
